IOGear GHDMIFDVIMÂ Gold-plated HDMI (F) to DVI-D Dual Link (M) Adapter, IOGEAR HDMI (F) to DVI (M) Video Adapter allows you to connect an HDMI-enabled device to a DVI-enabled device using an HDMI cable. One end of the adapter is an HDMI female connector and the other end is a DVI-D Dual Link male connector. Simply plug the DVI male connector to a DVI-enabled device, and then connect an HDMI cable which is plugged into an HDMI-enabled device to the HDMI connection on the adapter.

I wanted to be able to hook my laptop up to my HDTV via the DVI connector on the computer. I found this on Amazon for a really good price, even with shipping included, and made my decision. I already had an HDMI cable that came with the TV and just needed an adaptor to connect the laptop to the cable. I wasn't really in a hurry so I looked at various supplier websites and checked prices at a few stores while I was purchasing other products. This little adaptor has worked like a charm and I've had no problems with it so far. It's quite sturdy, too.

(great quality) 3) a 35foot hdmi cl2 rated cable directly to tv This connection allows the imac to either MIRROR its' screen display onto the lcd tv screen OR use the tv screen in addition to (expanding) the imac display. AWESOME. From imac I attached 1)APPLE M9321G/B mini-dvi to dvi adapter 2) Iogear:hdmi(f) to dvi-d dual link(m) adapter. Through a lot of research on my part I gathered the above as a solution & it works as well as I anticipated. WITH THE ABOVE, AUDIO DOES NOT CARRY TO THE TV, SO CONNECT IMAC AUDIO DIRECTLY TO YOUR STEREO OR TV FOR SOUND W/ HEADPHONE JACK OR DIGITAL AUDIO JACK FOUND ON THE BACK PANEL OF IMAC (or rely on the imac internal speakers)
